Christmas Eve is almost as popular as Christmas. A much overlooked day to celebrate is Thanksgiving Eve. Many people throw a Thanksgiving Eve party before the big day. Throwing your own party can be as simple or difficult as you like. Thanksgiving Eve parties are hosted at numerous clubs throughout the nation. However, you can host your own at home too. Normally, these parties are held by someone other than the person hosting Thanksgiving Day dinner; after all, one person can't do everything.

  • Snacks Drinks Games (board games, cards, video games) Decorations (small to medium pumpkins, gourds or flower arrangements) Movies Music Invitations
  1. Step 1

Buy or create your own invitations and send them to your guests. Ask guests to RSVP so you know how much food you will need to prepare.

  2. Step 2

Decorate side and coffee tables with fall-colored flower arrangements, pumpkins and gourds. You can also find small stuffed turkeys to set around to add to the Thanksgiving atmosphere.

  3. Step 3

Make room for games. For instance, games like Pictionary and Charades will require space to move around and draw. If playing video games, make room for everyone near the television.

  4. Step 4

Prepare an area for children. Provide age-appropriate movies and games for them.

  5. Step 5

Place snacks such as chips, cookies, trail mix and nachos on a buffet style table or a coffee table. Leave drinks in the kitchen to prevent any spills.

  6. Step 6

Clear a space for dancing if needed. Play music you know your guests will like.
