Things You'll Need:
- Sunday newspaper
- computer
- printer
- possibly a credit card or Paypal (if you want to order any coupons)
- scissors
- friends
-
Step 1
The best place to find grocery coupons is in the Sunday newspaper. Take a few minutes each week to look through them and cut the coupons out. If you find a few coupons that you want more of, then go to the news stand and buy a few more newspapers. Just be careful to make sure they have the coupons in them before you buy and that the coupons are worth more than the price of the newspaper!
-
Step 2
Ask your friend, family and neighbors if you can have their extra coupons from the paper. Most people only use a small amount of the coupons available and are willing to share. Be prepared to reciprocate.
-
Step 3
If you are in a group like MOPS, Sunday School or some other type of club, start a coupon exchange. For every coupon someone adds to the pile, they can withdraw one. This is a win, win for everyone.
-
Step 4
Print out coupons. There are several places that allow you to print out coupons. I so far have not had any trouble using them. Most of these sites have you download a free program that puts a barcode on the coupon and they have a limit to how many you can print out. I have added some links to the bottom of this page.
-
Step 5
Use a coupon service. This one you have to be more careful with!!! There are several places that you can pay a handling fee to, to send you more coupons. They usually have a minimum amount you have to buy. If your careful, you can save a lot using this. The service that I have used typically "charges" you about $.05 per coupon and has a minimum of 5 of the same coupon. They also have a minimum that you have to spend $3.00 with them and there is a small extra fee for the whole order (around $.50 to $1.00). The advantage of this is you can get a LOT of coupons, the disadvantage is, it isn't totally free. To make this worth my while, I only use it when they have a good stock of coupons that I need (you can browse through them) and only buy multiples that I know I will be buying a lot of that product and they will not perish before I use it all up. I will add the link to the service that I have used to the bottom of the page.
