Making popcorn garland is a fun and easy project. It is also a great way to entertain impatient children who are excited about the coming of Christmas. Strings of popcorn garland add a little homemade character to your Christmas tree.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 needle 1 spool of thread Stove-top popcorn
  1. Step 1

Cook the popcorn (without any salt or butter), following the directions given on the package. Let it cool for about a half hour.

  2. Step 2

Cut a 10-foot piece of thread. String the thread through the needle. Pull the needle to the half-way point of the thread. Tie the ends together so that you have about 5 feet of thread on your needle.

  3. Step 3

Put the needle through the fluffiest part of the popcorn (not the kernel, as this will usually cause the popcorn to crumble). Pull it all the way to the end of the thread.

  4. Step 4

Repeat Step 3 until you only have about 2 inches of empty space left on your thread.

  5. Step 5

Cut the needle off and tie a knot at the end of your string of popcorn garland.

Tips & Warnings
  • Small children can easily choke on popcorn! Be careful when doing this project around toddlers. Make sure all needles are accounted for when you are finished.
