How to Make a Small Bathroom Look Larger

Instructions

1. Paint the walls a light neutral color or light pastel. A bold wall color in a small bathroom is too over powering and pulls the walls toward you.

2. Clear away clutter from the counter top. Keep everyday articles confined in a basket for easy access. Move other items underneath the sink.

3. Choose a shower curtain in a solid light color or pick a subdued design. Refrain from large designs or bright colors.

4. Mount a large mirror above the vanity. A mirror that covers most of the wall above the sink will open the room and reflect light.

5. Hang sconces above the mirror to reflect light and brighten the room. Cover the bulbs with opaque globes to soften the lighting.

6. Replace a large toilet and install a small toilet to take up less space. Choose white or ivory rather than another color.

7. Cover a window with lightweight cotton or lace curtains. Natural lighting makes a room feel warm and open.

8. Add color with a picture and frame. Select pictures with a single image, such as one flower. Select a frame to match a color in the flower.
