      Download and install the browser that you would like to set as a default on to your computer. Internet Explorer is the standard default browser on most computers. A list of popular browsers that you can download is in the Additional Resources section below.

      Click the Windows button on your computer, or click the "Start" button on the bottom left corner of your desktop screen. On the pop-up menu, select "Default Programs" from the navigation list on the right.

      Click "Set your default programs" on the following screen. On the left-hand side, select the browser that you would like to use as your default browser. Click "OK."

      Check to see if the correct default browser has been set. Click the Windows button or the "Start" button. On the top left side of the pop-up menu, under the section "Internet," your selected browser should be displayed.
