Step 1
Head to change.gov, the website for Obama's transition to President. Not surprisingly, the application process begins online, as Obama is widely anticipated to usher in the most wired Presidency seen to date. See Resources, below, for a direct link to the change.gov application website.
-
Step 2
Fill out the Expression of Interest form at change.gov. This is a simple application that calls for just basic identification information, along with your area of interest for a job with the Obama/Biden administration.
-
Step 3
In a few days, you will receive an email with a link to a more detailed application form. Fill out this form completely, and make sure you receive an email acknowledgement that the form has been received.
-
Step 4
Wait. Your application will be reviewed, doubtless with many thousands of others. You will be contacted if the White House team requires additional information from you.
-
Step 5
Keep an eye on usajobs.gov. The jobs at change.gov are non-career jobs, that is, the non-civil-service jobs that the President can hire directly. Other (usually lower level) civil service jobs are posted at usajobs.gov, so check there as well for positions of interest.
-
Step 6
See Resources, directly below, for links to change.gov and other links for getting federal jobs in the administration of President Obama. Also check the 'Related Articles' and 'More Articles Like This' features elsewhere on this page.
