How to Make Chicken With Sauteed Mushrooms
Sometimes you want to make something exquisite for your family, but you do not have the budget for gourmet fare. A simple main dish of chicken with sauteed mushrooms can be cooked many different ways and it still easy on your budget! Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2lbs chicken (I like to use skinless, boneless chicken strips, but you can use any chicken you have.
- One pound fresh sliced mushrooms
- Olive oil or butter for sauteeing
- Savory flakes
- Basil flakes
- Sea salt (coarse ground)
- Black pepper

Before adding the chicken to the pan, I sprinkle it with salt and pepper to taste. then I place it into the pan and begin saute, about 5 minutes on each side.

Once the chicken has cooked on both sides for about 5 minutes each, I then add the sliced mushrooms along with the savory and basil flakes. During this time, be sure to take your spoon or tongs and move the chicken all around so that the mushrooms can soak up the flavor and cook with all of the seasonings and juices. Remain cooking for another 8 minutes or so until the chicken is completely cooked and the mushrooms are pliable.

I generally serve this dish with a pasta such as linguini or penne, however any kind of pasta or side dish works wonderful with these flavors!
Tips & Warnings
For cooking with a whole breast of chicken, simply mind the heat in your pan and cook for a longer period of time.
