Make Healthy French Fries

Got a craving for french fries but don't want to eat the grease and calories of deep fried french fries. Here is how to make delicious, healthy french fries.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Potatoes
  • Egg Whites
  • Pepper
  • Seasonings to taste
  • Salt
  1. Step 1

Peel one medium to large potato per person. Choose firm, brown baking potatoes to make delicious healthy french fries.

  2. Step 2

Slice the potatoes in half. Cut each half into thick french frie style wedges.

  3. Step 3

Dip the wedges into beaten egg whites. Use one egg white per medium potato to make healthy french fries.

  4. Step 4

Place healthy french fry wedges on a non-stick baking tray.

  5. Step 5

Sprinkle with your choice of seasonings. Garlic salt, thyme, onion powder and other spices add to the flavor of healthy french fries.
Add a dash of pepper and a little paprika if desired.

  6. Step 6

Bake french fries in an oven that has been pre-heated to 450 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown. When you remove the french fries sprinkle with a little salt. Serve hot and enjoy these delicious healthy french fries and the calories savings!

on 11/9/2008 My toddler loves french fries, but I hate giving him all the fat and calories. This sounds like an alternative we'll both love. *****
