Step 1
Select "System Preferences" from the "Apple" menu on the top left of the screen. The System Preferences window will open with four rows of icons. The fourth row is the System row. Click on the "Accounts" icon.

Click on the "padlock" icon if some of the selections are grayed out. Enter the administrator name and password for full access to make changes.

Click the "+" button and type in the name of the new user. A short version of that name will generate automatically. If you don't like the shortened name, simply highlight it and type the name you would prefer.

Select a password and type it into the "Password" and "Verify" fields. Also choose a hint in case you forget the password.

Click "Parental Controls" to determine how much access each account can have (see Resources below).
