You love your short haircut but it gets annoying when it looks the same every day. Just because your hair is short doesn't mean you can't jazz it up with the same aplomb as those who have lengthier locks. You can accessorize short hair with a number of striking options.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Headband Clips Extensions Jewelry (optional) Gel and hairspray
  1. Step 1

Don a headband. Headbands are easy, versatile, fun and can be made out of just about anything. Buy one from a beauty supply store or simply wrap a piece of material, scarf or even a long, flat necklace behind your ears, over the top of your head and secure at the back of your neck.

  2. Step 2

Play with bangs. The front of your hair can be a showcase for a number of accessories. Use two small bobby pins to make a simple sidesweep. Gel up your bangs and place tiny butterfly clips at the roots. Gel your bangs into points with a little sequin stuck on each tip. Use hair gel and hairspray to get the sequins to stick. If you don't have bangs, you can create them by curling the front part of your hair under atop your forehead and securing the back of the curl with bobby pins.

  3. Step 3

Clip on some cut or funky clips. Little clips, even those found in the children's section, look great clipped randomly through short hair. You can pick sections, twist and secure them into place with a number of options. Heavy duty clip-on earrings work, as do small barrettes or other pieces of jewelry you can attach to a boring old bobby pin with glue or wire.

  4. Step 4

Wrap it in ribbons. Ribbons make an ultimate accessory because they can do whatever you want. Use a thicker one as a headband. Pick an array of thinner ribbon to tie in cute little knots throughout your do. One really cool look is to use the same type of ribbon as a headband and choker. Dashing.

  5. Step 5

Use extensions. Hair extensions are available these days even at some dollar stores, so they are easy to find. Have a field day. You can clip larger pieces to give yourself a full of long hair, or add a few long wispy pieces to frame your face or tendril down your back. Secure the extensions with gel, clips and a blast of hair spray.

  6. Step 6

Get flowery. A silk or live flower tucked behind your ear and secured with bobby pins works with any hair length. This is good for fun nights out.
