  2. Step 2

Glue them to the outside of some kind of ball or spherical object.

  3. Step 3

Put a string through the spherical object and hang it from the rafters.

  4. Step 4

Shine lights (ideally multicolored) onto the ball.

  5. Step 5

    Bingo! Disco ball.

Tips & Warnings
  • Recycle CDs that Internet access companies send you in the mail.
  • Teachers and nonprofit organizations can ask U.S. Postal Service carrier stations for the undeliverable CDs and other craft items that are normally thrown away. Address a letter to the U.S.P.S. station manager, and make arrangements to pick these items up regularly.

on 11/22/2005 Be extremely careful breaking up the CDs.I recommend some gloves and a pair of safety glasses. My friend got a few stitches from trying to break up CDs.

on 11/22/2005 Watch out for your eyes. Pieces of plastic can fly up, and you don't want them to hit you. I did an art project last year using broken CDs, but I used an modelling knife and snapped it on the edge of the table. It didn't work too well.

on 11/22/2005 You can also use any silver colored confetti. I used confetti shaped like bells. They were approximately 1 square centimeter each. I placed them next to each other. It looks great!

on 11/22/2005 I grew pear-shaped gourds, dried them, painted them white, covered them with tiny cut pieces of old CDs and used them for beautiful Christmas tree ornaments.
