The iPod touch, iPad and iPhone can run third-party apps with jailbreaking software.

In 2001, Apple introduced its revolutionary iPod. A lightweight MP3 player capable of holding 1,000 songs in a device small enough to put in your pocket. The popularity of the iPod led Apple to develop new models increasingly more storage and features. In 2007, Apple debuted the iPod touch -- the first iPod equipped with a touch-screen phone that could support Web access and applications. Like all devices running on the Apple operating system, the iPod touch is designed to run only Apple-approved applications and hardware. Free programs allow you to jailbreak the iPod Touch quickly and easily so that you can run a wider range of applications and programs.
