How to Make a Santa Canister Out of Household Items
This is a festive decoration to have around for the holidays that is easy to make on any budget. It can be turned into a craft project that kids can do, or a fun night for a women's craft meeting. It can also be used as a gift wrapper for your presents or goodies that are given out when caroling. Follow these steps to create this Christmas themed container. Does this Spark an idea?

First pick out a container to use as your canister. You can select an oatmeal box, tin can, coffee can or other object.

Cover the top one third of the canister in white felt. Attach the felt with glue.

Cover the bottom two-thirds of the canister in red felt. Attach the felt with glue.

Cover the top of the lid in red felt, and attach with glue. Then cover the lid’s outer edge in white felt with glue. Now glue on a cotton ball on top.

Cut out the eye pattern out of black felt. Glue it onto the top one third of the canister on the white felt.

Cut out a circular nose out of dark pink. Glue it on the white felt below the eyes.

Cut out two circles for the cheeks out of light pink. Glue the cheeks onto the white felt beside the nose.

Cut out the mouth out of red felt. Glue the mouth onto the white felt slightly below the nose.

Cut the fake fur for the beard and make sure the mouth shows through. Attach it in a semi-circle around the face with glue.

Use the fake fur for the hair by cutting it in thin strips, and then glue at the top of the canister allowing it to hang down.

Fill the container with candy and gifts, or use it for storage.
