Step 1
Come prepared to browse. The spacious store offers comfortable chairs scattered throughout to get comfortable while you make a selection. Catch up on the latest best sellers. Bookman’s features used copies of "The New York Times’" most recent offerings as well as popular titles by best selling authors, at prices about one-third lower than new.

Step 2
Learn a new skill. Bookman’s offers a selection of how-to books including textbooks, self-help, home and appliance repair, cooking, foreign language, and more. Expand your social network. The store offers weekly board game nights, card playing clubs and book discussions. Other no-cost weekly groups include belly dancing and screenwriting. In addition, a medieval skills workshop is taught on an ongoing basis. See the store's website for details, or call for dates and times.

Items most likely to sell include best selling fiction and nonfiction, how-to books, audio books, handheld devices and current magazines. Bookman’s also buys and sells digital cameras, vinyl records, DVDs, video games, computer software and a limited selection of housewares.

Step 4
Bring the little ones to story hour, held each week on Tuesday mornings. Some of the story hours feature sign language as well. Bookman’s also offers a kids’ club with discounts toward merchandise and special birthday gifts.
