Instructions

    • 1

Dilute 2 tbsp. of lemon juice with 2 tbsp. of distilled water. Apply to your face with a cotton ball to remove excess oil, clean/tighten pores, and kill surface bacteria that cause blemishes. This can also be used as a toner for oily skin.

    • 2

Mix 1/2 tsp. cornstarch with 1 tsp. each of coconut milk and pineapple juice. Stir to create a paste. Apply this mixture as a mask to your skin, and leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Use twice a week to help heal blemished skin.

    • 3

Remove the skin from a tomato, and discard the seeds. Crush the tomato, and add 1 tsp. lemon juice, 1 tbsp. dried peppermint leaves, 2 tbsp. instant oatmeal, and 1/2 tbsp. dried yeast. Mix well and apply as a mask for 10 minutes. Use three times a week to normalize your skin and heal acne.

    • 4

Combine 1/2 cup of yogurt and 3 tbsp. of crushed almonds. Use this as a facial scrub to eliminate blemishes and clean pores. Use no more than once a week if your skin is sensitive. Otherwise, use twice a week.

    • 5

Mix together 3 tbsp. honey and 1 tsp. cinnamon powder. Apply to your face and let dry. Leave on your skin overnight, and rinse with warm water in the morning to fight acne.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before using these recipes for the first time, apply a small amount behind your ear or on the inside of your arm. If your skin shows no irritation 60 minutes later, proceed with the facial.

  • Keep these preparations out of your eyes. Some ingredients such as lemon juice, pineapple juice, and tomato juice are eye irritants, so apply the masks with care. Note that naturally acidic ingredients, although beneficial, should be diluted with an equal amount of distilled water or another soothing substance (cornstarch, oatmeal, honey, yogurt, coconut milk) to avoid potential irritation.
