How to Customize a Weather.com Page

The Weather Channel was created in 1982 and since then has brought up-to-the-minute weather information to the world. Now The Weather Channel has spread to several mediums, including cable networks, the Internet, Desktop weather, radio and newspapers to give users access to their latest weather information. Their website features forecasts and current conditions for over 77,000 locations around the world, along with regional and local radars, and you can customize it for your area relatively easily.

Instructions

1. Access the website. You can view weather news, travel information, driving and traffic reports, and data on several other topics by clicking on the options at the top of the page (see Resources below).

2. Choose the customize option. You can set up the Web page to show only the weather specific to your local area. They also list school and road closings in severe weather. Click on the “Customize Weather.com” link in the top right corner of the page to begin.

3. Enter your location information. Enter your city or zip code into the field. Once you input your location data you will have access to a list of customizable features for your local area. Click on the “Continue” button to proceed with your page setup.

4. View and select from the interests options. Once your exact location is set, you are sent to a page that lists a variety of options to choose from under the “What Matters to You” heading, including pollen forecasts, school day forecasts, sporting event forecasts and others. You can select airports to view delays, interstate forecasts, and also view local golf courses and ski resorts.

5. Review your page. After you have selected all of the options, you will be directed to your customized page. There you can view the local temperature, 10-day forecast, hour-by-hour forecast and many other local weather details. You can check the pollen levels and view national or local weather maps, as well.
