Easily access your Personal Computer or Work Computer Remotely from almost anywhere with full access to files, programs and network resources. Through this article I will introduce you to a Free Remote Access software which you can use from any convenient location to troubleshoot a friend's computer, access work PC, Access a computer from another room, Share Files between computers and many more possibilities.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two Computers - One acting as Host (Controller) , another as Client (Controlled)
  • Showmypc Free Remote access software.
  1. Step 1

    DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE

    Go to http://www.showmypc.com website and Click on the first link on the page which says "Show my PC to Remote User". You will be prompted to "Run" or "Save" the software. Click on "Run" and install the software.

    START THE APPLICATION AND GET FAMILIARIZED

    Once you open the application, you will find various features in the options menu. You can use this application to Share Files, View another computer and manipulate settings or even Schedule and Attend meetings.

    On the Client (Controlled) Computer, Launch "ShowMyPC2942.exe" installed software and Click on "Show My PC" button to generate password and make your computer accessible remotely.

    On the Host computer, Launch the application and click on "View a Remote PC" button. The application will prompt for a password. Enter the Client's generated password and click "OK".

    The Host computer will immediately see the Client computer's Desktop and easily share files, Drag and Drop files, Open and Save documents and a range of features.

    Try Advanced options, in case you want to use your own middle SSH server or Get a Custom Build with your SSH Server Settings.
    Tested on OpenSSH or WinSSHD.

    Launch the application and Click on "Options >> Scheduled Meetings >> Start a Scheduled Meeting"

    Choose an email address and 6 digit password and click Ok.
    You are done, you just started a meeting with your chosen email and meeting password.

    From the options menu, Choose "Attend a Scheduled Meeting"

    Get the Host's email and meeting password from the host. Click ok to join the meeting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make Sure you turn OFF Firewall on both the computers. Firewalls do not allow remote connections.
  • Anti-virus software may be kept active in case it does not block file download or remote access automatically.
  • Do not share your generated password with unknown users or strangers. Computer Hacking is a widespread crime.
