1
Select some figurines to use for your candy cane critters. They should either be animals that have tails, like mice, cats or dogs, or animals in a sitting position with arms outstretched so that they appear to be holding onto the candy cane, such as most teddy bears.
-
2
Glue the candy canes to the critters using the hot glue gun. Use small drops of glue so that the figurine is easy to remove once the recipient of the present is ready to eat the candy cane. For an animal that is crouching or lying down, glue the candy cane underneath them so that they appear to have a long, striped tail. For an animal that is sitting, glue the candy cane in between their "paws" so that they appear to be holding onto it.

Hold the candy cane in place while the glue sets. With a glue gun, this will take about 20 seconds at the most. Now, you are ready to decorate your own tree with these adorable critters, or give them to others as sweet treats.

Tips & Warnings
Small, fuzzy figurines that can be bought in craft stores work best for this craft, although you can use any figurine you like.
Always use a glue gun with adult supervision. Carelessness or inexperience with a hot glue gun can result in serious burns.
