How to Create a Company Letterhead in Microsoft Word
Many small businesses cannot afford a custom company letterhead created by an expensive graphic designer. But it is very easy for businesses to create a professional-looking letterhead in Microsoft Word. Here is a simple step-by-step guide to creating a company letterhead in Word that you can use for all of your business dealings.

Open Microsoft Word. Go to “File” and click “New blank document.”

Go to “View” and select “Header and Footer.” With the cursor in the header section, go to “Insert” and click “Picture.” Insert your company’s logo into the header section. If you do not have a company logo, type the name of your company and select an appropriate font, size and color. Adjust the alignment of either your logo or text.

Click “Switch between header and footer” in the header formatting toolbar. In the footer section, type the address, telephone, website and email address of your company. Customize the color, size and style of font as well as the text alignment. Click “Close” in the formatting toolbar.

Check your header and footer to make sure the letterhead design looks good. Go back and adjust anything you want to change.

Go to “File” and click “Save as.” In the format drop-down menu, select “Document Template.” Save your file as letterhead.dot.

Create a new document based on your letterhead template next time you open Microsoft Word.
