How to Make an Ice Cream Spoon Reindeer Ornament

• Wooden ice cream spoon
• Two 1-inch wide wooden hearts
• Maple stain
• ¼-inch red pom pom
• ½-inch tan pom pom
• 2 ¼-inch wiggly eyes
• Miniature jingle bell
• Brown embroidery floss
• Embroidery needle
• 1/8-inch wide red ribbon
• 1/8-inch wide green ribbon
• Drill and small bit
• Craft glue
• Rubber gloves
• Sponge brush
• Paper towels
• Scissors

1. Stain the fronts and backs of the wooden ice cream spoon and the wooden hearts using the sponge brush, rubber gloves and the maple stain. Wipe off the excess stain with a paper towel. Allow the pieces to dry.

2. Drill a hole in one end of the wooden ice cream spoon, ¼ inch from the end.

3. Glue the tan pom pom on the tip, at the other end of the wooden ice cream spoon, using the craft glue.

4. Glue the red pom pom, for the red nose, above the tan pom pom using the craft glue.

5. Place the ice cream spoon reindeer's wiggly eyes close together and above the nose. Glue them in place using the craft glue.

6. Place the wooden hearts a ¼ inch above the eyes, with the points facing each other and touching. Glue them in place using the craft glue.

7. Hold a strand of red ribbon and green ribbon together. Tie a 2-inch bow. Trim the ends. Glue the bow where the points of the wood heart ears meet.

8. Glue the miniature jingle bell below the knot on the bow using the craft glue. Allow all the glued pieces to dry.

9. Thread the brown embroidery floss on the needle and insert it through the hole at the top of the ice cream spoon reindeer ornament. Cut the floss to measure 3 inches from the top of the ornament and tie the ends together to create the ornament hanger. The embroidery floss will be a total of 6 inches.

• Wooden ice cream spoons come in a variety of sizes. Plan the placement of your reindeer features accordingly.

• Any brown stain will work for this project.
