Instructions

    • 1

Keep your legs out of the sun. Your freckles will darken every time you are in the sun. Wear a high SPF sunscreen when legs are exposed and opt for protective clothing whenever possible. Avoid the sun completely during its peak hours.

    • 2

Apply fresh lemon juice to your leg freckles. Allow the juice to sit there for 15 to 30 minutes before rinsing it off. The acidity in the lemon juice will help to fade the freckles.

    • 3

Use a skin bleaching cream on your legs. Your dermatologist can prescribe a strong cream that will work more effectively on freckles. Most bleaching creams contain hydroquinone, a key lightening ingredient.

    • 4

Talk to your dermatologist about laser therapy. Intense laser light is used to essentially remove the superficial layers of skin. After a few treatments, your leg freckles will be lightened significantly. Laser therapy is painful and expensive so make sure you are prepared for a series of treatments before beginning.

    • 5

Get a series of chemical peels on your legs. Depending on the severity of your leg freckles, you can choose between light, medium or deep peels. The chemicals burn away the top layers of skin, revealing less damaged skin below. Your freckles will be less noticeable after even one peel.

    • 6

Mix 3 tbsp. of baking soda with water to form a paste. Apply the mixture to your legs and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse the paste off completely. This home remedy has been shown to lighten freckles and age spots.

Tips & Warnings

  • Lotions and cleansers that contain Vitamin C will help to lighten and brighten skin, thereby reducing the appearance of freckles.

  • Skin will be particularly vulnerable after laser therapy. Be extra careful with your leg skin following treatment.
