How to Put the Angry Child Spirit to Rest in “Baldur’s Gate 2”

Many of the quests that your party of adventurers can complete in the PC role-playing game Baldur's Gate 2 do not require you to slay any monsters or recover any great treasure. A non-combat related quest you can complete early in the game takes place in the Graveyard District of the city of Athkatla, where you can put the spirit of a murdered child to rest.

  • Turn off the "rest until healed" option in the menu screen and then rest at an inn or tavern until night time.

  • Travel to the Graveyard District in the city of Athkatla.

  • Find the spirit of the child named Wellyn who is roaming around the entrance to the area screaming about his violent death. Talk to Wellyn to discover that the man who murdered him also stole his stuffed bear.

  • Leave the Graveyard District and head over to the Slum District. Go into the Copper Coronet Tavern and speak with the man named Llynis. Convince him to give you back the bear or kill him and take the bear from his body.

  • Go back to the Graveyard District and give the stuffed bear back to the child spirit to convince him to stop haunting the area.

Tips & Warnings

  • Return to the Graveyard District during the day to find the spirit's parents. Tell them that you put their child's ghost to rest to gain an additional experience point reward.
