Email Campaign Software

If you are running your own business, you can branch out onto a whole new marketing tactic by setting up an email marketing campaign. In short, this is a list of trusted leads who you believe will be interested in your product or services. To clarify, this is not intended to be used as a spam tool. This is most easily done using email campaign software. Here are things to consider when choosing email campaign software.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Price should be the least of your worries so let’s get that out of the way first. There are many other things which are important to consider. Once you have narrowed your list of software down to a few, you can start looking at pricing, however at this point they are all likely to be very similar in cost.

  2. Step 2

The first thing you want to do is search for them online. This will turn up a lot of bogus sites which aren’t offering real or quality products. It will be your job to narrow these down to the legit ones based on the rest of the criteria. Do not under any circumstance purchase software which does not have a website or which is listed on a site that doesn’t have its own domain name or is listed on a sub-domain.

    Bad URL example:
    www.crumbysoftware.scamartist.com

  3. Step 3

There are a number of email campaign software products which will manage your e-mail list. Find one that offers ease of use, do not mail flags, black lists, featured lists, hot lists, things like this.

  4. Step 4

Templates are a service which is offered as part of your e-mail campaign. The templates are an HTML formatted e-mail which you can easily plug your logo into. If this is a feature you decide to use, make sure they have template to your liking before purchasing the software. Otherwise, you may find yourself paying additional money to the company or an outside contractor for a custom template.

  5. Step 5

Some software desktop software which installs on your PC and interfaces with a web based email client. This is ideal compared to a web paced product as they tend to be more stable. Plus if you purchase a web based utility it may require purchasing a service agreement in order to install it on your site.

  6. Step 6

The last major thing to consider once you have decided on the reputability of the email campaign software and have found some with the services the you require is to consider the look and feel of the e-mail to the prospective customer. The e-mail template should take care of most of this, however am unsubscribe button is critical. Without this feature, many people will automatically consider you spam without even looking at the product. This feature should be fully automated. An ‘email here’ is not reputable and does not give the consumer any peace of mind.
