1
Commit. Though it grows back, hair shaved cannot be unshaved, and stopping in the middle of a shave is undesirable. Before going any further, be sure that shaving your pubic hair is the desired goal.
-
2
Choose a design. The most common designs for pubic hair are the triangle, landing strip and heart shape; but really, anything goes. Be creative and expressive.

3
Prep the area. On the first shave, or if its been a long time since the last shave, long hairs will have to be cut back as much as possible. Skipping this step can damage the razor and cause painful tugging on the hair. Some sort of shaving medium should be applied to the appropriate area, even if just soap, though gel or cream intended for shaving is recommended. This also protects the razor and makes shaving a much more painless process.

4
Shave. For a clean shave, use the hand not holding the razor to pull back on skin to create a flat surface. For men this can be a bit more challenging due to the topography of the pubic region, particularly if shaving the scrotum. Move the razor against the flattened skin gently against the grain of the hair.

5
Double-check. It may be necessary to go over an area more than once to ensure a clean shave, or to rinse and look in the mirror if leaving some hair behind. Reapply shaving cream or gel according to comfort.
-
6
Moisturize. No matter how often an area is shaved, the very act itself tends to dry skin. Use moisturizer or baby oil to protect skin, especially in sensitive places.
