Angels are quite commonly seen around Christmas. Schools and churches are busy preparing plays and making costumes. There are several ways to make a halo for an angel costume. Some are very elaborate and take quite some time to make but this halo craft is for when you are in a pinch and need a halo in a matter of minutes. It is also a simple craft for a younger child to make for fun. They can make the halo and pretend they are an angel for the day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper plate
  • Aluminum foil
  • Scissors
  • Bobby pins
  1. Step 1

Cut out the middle of a paper plate with a pair of scissors. If you have paper plates with the ripples on the edges, just leave the ripples and cut out the rest. If you have no ripples, then just measure 1 1/2 inches all the way around and cut out the rest.

  2. Step 2

Rip off some pieces of aluminum foil. You will need several pieces to go all the way around the circle. Make sure the pieces are fat enough to fit all the way around because you only want to see the shiny silver and not the white paper plate underneath.

  3. Step 3

Wrap the circle completely with the aluminum foil. It will be overlapping in several places and that is okay.

  4. Step 4

Place the halo on your head. You can wear it straight on top like a hat, or slanted toward the back like the picture. You may also need some bobby pins to get it to stay in place.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use this halo to finish off an angel Halloween costume or an angel costume for a Christmas play.
  • Use age appropriate scissors when cutting the paper plate to avoid unnecessary injury.
