Choose a Date to Bring to a Wedding

When you go to a wedding, you don’t want to end up bringing someone that you can’t stand. You want to walk out of the wedding having had a great time with pleasant company. Good dates can sometimes be hard to find.

Instructions

    • 1

Ask someone that is reliable. When you RSVP that you’re going to be bringing a guest, you don’t want to show up by yourself. It’s then that the bride and groom will have paid for an extra plate for no reason. Also, showing up alone may leave you feeling a bit uncomfortable, especially if you don’t know anyone else there. When you ask someone reliable, then there is a good chance that they’ll be there for you.

Bring a date that has good social graces. You don’t want to bring someone that’s going to be rude, disrespectful and be belching at the table. Pick a date that will be classy and leave a lasting, positive impression, not only on you but the others attending the wedding as well.

    • 3

Invite a date that will dress well and accordingly. If the person that you’re thinking of inviting will insist on coming to the wedding wearing jeans when he should be wearing a suit and tie, then it may be time to choose someone else. A wedding ceremony is a special and an important event that deserves respect. Showing up looking messy and not put together is disrespectful to the bride, the groom and to the rest of the guests that took the time to dress neatly. You’ll also be embarrassed knowing that the disrespectful person is there as your guest.

Choose a date to bring to the wedding that can handle his alcohol. There is nothing worse then a drunk date. It’s completely embarrassing. Not only is he making a fool out of himself but out of you as well. If you know that someone can’t handle his alcohol, you should probably consider asking a different person.

Ask someone that has knows how to dance or will at least be willing to try. When you go to a wedding, you don’t just want to sit there at the table the entire time eating and talking. A band or a deejay is there to provide entertainment so people can dance and enjoy the music. Make every effort to pick a date for the wedding that will be willing to bust a move on the dance floor with you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Opt for asking a good friend over an acquaintance. A friend may be more likely to be there for you and be a better date to you over someone that you barely know.
