How to Play "Age of Mythology"
Age of Mythology is a computer game that is based on mythology. It was created in 2002 by Ensembe Studios, and it became a very popular game that went platinum within four months. The game focuses on an exaggerated history of mythology beliefs surrounding Greeks, Egyptians, and Norse civilizations. The object of the game is to manage to survive through battles and build larger civilizations in order to continue onto the next stage. There are four stages that you will need to get through without dying.

Choose a civilization and a major god you want to start the game with. You will begin in the first stage, Archaic, with a few powers given by your choice of god. There are nine civilizations you can choose from that are split between three cultures, Egyptian, Norse, and Greek. There are three choices of major gods for each culture and three minor gods for each civilization.

Develop resources. There are four major resources that you will need to obtain. These are gold, food, wood, and favor. Each type of civilization will have certain people that can obtain the resources for you. For example, the Egyptians have laborers and fishermen. These resources gain strength for your people since gold represents wealth, wood helps build homes and other types of buildings, food will keep the people fed, and favor gives more help from the gods.

Build houses, towns, and buildings. The more homes and towns built, the greater number of people you gain control over in order to eventually gain control over the entire civilization. Your goal is to eventually build the town center where you can move on to the next stage, which would be Classical. The third stage is Heroic, and final stage is Mythic.

Develop an army. Upon gaining more control over more people, you will develop an army of people to fight when the opponent comes to attack your civilization. The more your civilization has progressed, the more powers you will receive from your major god, as well as three minor gods you select powers from.

Create wars and take over civilzations. By waging wars on other civilizations you will establish more powers from the gods, develop larger armies, gain more control over a larger majority of people, be able to get closer to advancing to the next stage, and eventually win the game.
