How to Play Double Twelve Dominoes
Double twelve domino sets are one of the largest domino sets available, with over three times as many tiles as a typical double six set. Double twelve sets have 91 dominoes, with zero to twelve dots on each half. These large sets take up more space on the table, but they also allow you to play standard domino games with extra players or extra tiles, as well as more complicated games. The website listed in Resources below has a picture of all the dominoes in a double twelve set, as well as rules for several different games. The Draw Dominoes game, although it’s one of the simplest, can be fun to play with a double twelve set.
Things You'll Need

- Large table or flat surface
- Two or more players
- Pencil and paper
Instructions

1
Place all the dominoes face down on the table and shuffle them. You may want to place the dominoes to one side of the table, to make room for the game in the center.
-
2
Pick seven dominoes if you have two or three players or five dominoes if you have four or more players. Put your dominoes on the table so that only you can see them by placing them on their sides with the dots facing toward you. The remaining dominoes are the boneyard, which players can draw from.

3
Ask if anyone has the double twelve domino. If so, have that player place it face up in the center of the table. If not, ask for the double eleven and so on, until whoever has the highest double domino has placed it on the table. The player to the left takes the next turn.
-
4
Play a domino in your hand that matches the number of the domino on the board, placing them end to end. If you cannot play, pick additional dominoes from the boneyard until you can play.
-
5
Continue playing, going around the table clockwise. If you have a double domino that matches one of the available numbers on the table, place the double domino sideways rather than end to end. This allows players to play on either end of the domino.

6
Continue playing, going around the table clockwise. If you have a double domino that matches one of the available numbers on the table, place the double domino sideways against the matching domino rather than end to end. This allows players to play on either end of the double domino.
-
7
Pass your turn if there are no dominoes left in the boneyard and you cannot play any of the dominoes in your hand.
-
8
End the game when one player has used all of his or her dominoes, or when no one can play any dominoes and the boneyard is empty.
-
9
Score the game by having everyone add up the number of dots on all the unplayed dominoes they have. The player with the lowest number of dots wins all the points of the other players, minus the points in his own hand, if any.
-
10
Start the game over and continue playing, if desired, until someone reaches a total score of 100, or the group tires of the game.

Tips & Warnings
If there is a tie between the score of two players, the player with the tile with the lowest number of dots (also called the lightest tile) wins the points.
