- Clear goblets
- White glue
- Gold glitter
- Food coloring

Step 1
Select clear goblets that have a decorative stem and a bell shaped body. Choose several different designs that have varying heights to create depth and interest to your display. Consider adding smaller goblets with miniature floating candles. You can often find inexpensive goblets at the dollar store.

Thoroughly wash and dry the goblets. Pour gold glitter into a shallow bowl or plate. Apply a thin strip of white craft glue around the rim of the goblet. Press the goblet into the glitter. Remove and shake gently to get rid of any excess glitter. Set aside to dry.

Step 3
Make your own floating candles by melting paraffin wax over a double boiler. Use a disposable tin can set inside a large pan of boiling water for a quick double burner that you won't have to clean up afterward. Break the paraffin into small chunks and heat until melted. Coat a small muffin pan or other mold that is larger at the top than at the base with vegetable oil to make removal quick and easy. Pour the melted wax into the mold and allow it to cool until a skin has formed over the top. Insert a section of pre-waxed wick into the center of the candle. Sprinkle with a pinch of glitter. Allow it to cool completely.

Step 4
Fill the goblet to 1 ½ inches from the rim with water. Add red or green food coloring to create rich holiday colors. Rich bright blue is also striking with a white floating candle.

Add the floating candle and light for a sparkling display. Add tiny bits of evergreen or scatter glitter on the water. Arrange as a centerpiece among fresh evergreens or Christmas bouquets. Set several on top of a mirror to increase sparkle and shine or display on a mantle for an impressive display.
