Toothpaste is something that everyone needs to maintain their dental hygiene. However, most toothpaste compounds are filled with chemicals, which can bother some people who are attempting to live an organic lifestyle. You can make a great tasting toothpaste by following the steps below.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make the base of the toothpaste. Put in 1 1/4 tsp. of baking soda into a mixing bowl. Add 1/3 tsp. of cinnamon. Mix the two together until you achieve consistent color and texture.

  2. Step 2

Add two drops of tea tree oil. Begin mixing, adding small amounts of water periodically until the substance becomes a reasonably firm paste. Try to get it very moderate, where it is not too thick and not too thin in texture. In this case, it is better to add to little water than too much.

  3. Step 3

When using the toothpaste, first wet the toothbrush and then apply a small amount of the toothpaste to the toothbrush. Brush teeth for several minutes before rinsing thoroughly. The flavor of the cinnamon should mask to the flavor of the baking soda and tea tree oil. It is advisable to rinse out your mouth afterwards with some filtered water or organic mouthwash. Make sure that the baking soda is sufficiently washed out of the mouth.

  4. Step 4

Keep the toothpaste in a sealed jar or container. If you keep it in a cool place, such as a refrigerator, it will last several weeks but also harden. The best place to keep it is in the bathroom. Be sure to only use it for two weeks before discarding. Try to use the toothpaste at least two times daily.
