How to Apply Schoolgirl Makeup

The schoolgirl look has gone from a school-mandated dress code to a sexy Halloween costume. A little skirt, thigh-highs and ponytails are significant features of the look. However, creating innocent and girlishly pretty makeup is just as important.

Things You'll Need

• Foundation
• Face powder
• Mascara
• Eyeshadow
• Lip gloss
• Concealer
• Eyeliner
• Blush
• Cleanser
• Moisturizer
• Toner
• Blush brush

Instructions

1. Start with a fresh palette. It's essential that you first cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin. This will prepare your skin for foundation application. Be sure to allow your moisturizer to absorb into your skin for at least 10 minutes.

2. Apply foundation. You can use a brush, a damp makeup sponge or your fingers to apply your foundation. Dot the foundation onto your face and blend it into your skin with one of the tools listed above. You want your foundation to be sheer, so don’t apply too much. Put concealer on any areas that need extra help such as blemishes or under-eye circles. Set your makeup with face powder.

3. Create the eyes. Schoolgirl made-up eyes should be fairly natural. Use a light nude eye shadow as a wash on your eyelid. Use a medium-toned brown to contour your eyes. Apply eyeliner to your eyelids. Try to make the line as thin as possible. Once you have finished with your eye shadow and eyeliner, curl your eyelashes and apply mascara. If necessary, apply another coat of mascara until you achieve your desired look.

4. Give yourself the glow. In order to create a youthful glow, it is essential that you apply blush. Lightly drag your blush brush across your blush. Look at yourself in the mirror and smile. Carefully apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks blending outwards.

5. Create glossy lips. A glossy pout makes a woman look fresh, youthful and pretty. Line your lips with a flesh-toned lip liner. Use a lip brush to blend the liner into your lips. Remember, you don’t want a definitive line. Apply your favorite natural-looking lip gloss.

• For fluttery lashes, apply false eyelashes. The lashes can be long, but make sure they aren’t thick.
