As needed, increase by adding a double crochet and chain one to the same stitch that forms the start chain 4.
While the increases are expanding slowly, only increase on beginning of row.
While the increases are expanding quickly, increase on beginning and end of row.
Continue until it reaches the length and width of desired coverage.
    Tie off.

  2. Step 2

Rear of Bottom (Design is for whale-tail thong. For string, reduce to single square an continue to desired length.)
Pick up stitch from original chain.
Chain 4. *dc, ch1* repeat to end.
    Repeat comparing to exemplar.
As needed, decrease by leaving off chain 1 on first and last stitch.
When decreases are complete, begin to increase by adding a double crochet and chain one to the same stitch that forms the start chain 4.
Continue until it reaches the length and width of desired coverage.

  3. Step 3

    Tie off.

  4. Step 4

Top (36A with nearly full coverage) Make 2.
Chain 50. Last 4 chains form first dc and ch 1. *dc, ch*, repeat across. Complete 8 rows.
Next 8 rows, follow pattern with only 7 holes forming "L" shape.
Slip stitch insides of "L" together. Tie off.

  5. Step 5

    Finishing.
Beginning at a lower corner, single crochet 2x in each dc space. At corner add extra sc and sc 2X in each dc space up the side. At top, chain 130 and slipstitch back to form tie.
Single crochet 2X down final side. Tie off.
    Repeat for other cup.
Chain 325 and slipstitch back to form bottom tie.
Thread in and out of bottom dc holes in each cup.
Cups can be slid along the tie to adjust as needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Using exemplar or actual fitting, check regularly for fit. Although infinitely adjustable, basic coverage preferences can only be determined by checking.
  • It doesn't take long to rip out a whole section if you want it different.
