The Crescent Moon Pose also known as Ardha Chandrasana strengthens your back, legs, arms and shoulders, and also stretches the sides of the body. Focus on lengthening the body rather than stretching while training on this yoga pose.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga Mat
  • Comfortable Clothing
  1. Step 1

    Relax your body, keep your back straight and kneel

  2. Step 2

    Step forward with your right foot. Keep your upper leg parallel with the floor. The left foot rests on the floor with its toes and your lower leg on the mat.

  3. Step 3

    Raise and stretch both your arms upwards. Then you raise your knee at the back so that your weight is now equally divided between the leg in front and the leg at the back. Focus and maintain balance.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make the most of the exercise by bending deeper with your front leg, by stretching your hind leg even further, by making your breathing as relaxed as possible and by stretching your arms as much as possible.
