Instructions

    • 1

Purchase ready-made wood shapes from a craft store.

    • 2

Measure to find the center of the button. Mark the center with a pencil. Drill holes 1/16-inches away from each side of that center mark.

    • 3

Paint or stain the buttons in your choice of color. Allow the stain to dry, then lightly sand. Apply a second coat of color and let the buttons dry.

    • 4

Spray the buttons with varnish. Let them dry overnight, then apply 2 to 3 more coats of varnish. Always let the buttons dry completely between applications.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a toothpick to clear the holes of paint and varnish.

  • Stains and spray varnish should only be used in ventilated areas.
