How to Season Hamburgers

Adding some seasoning to hamburgers will give your taste buds an explosion of flavor. Seasoning hamburger can be done with minimal effort and maximum payoff. With this extra step, you will sauce up your burger without paying an exorbitant amount of money or going through difficult recipe procedures. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Pick your seasonings. Just about any type of seasoning will work with a burger. Choose some that fit the mood of the taste that you are going for. Some good seasonings to try are Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, or even garlic or onion powder.

    • 2

Add some fresh ingredients to your burger mixture when it is defrosted and before the patties are formed. Adding some minced onion, garlic or even bell pepper may give your hamburgers the pop you are looking for. This is also a good way to sneak some vegetables into the meal.

    • 3

Mix in your fresh ingredients. After you have minced or finely chopped them, add them into your ground meat mixture. Be sure to spread the fresh vegetables throughout the ground meat mixture evenly. Push them evenly into the meat by using your hands (after they have been washed) and knead the vegetables in further.

    • 4

Sprinkle your chosen seasonings. After you knead in the vegetables (if you have chosen to do so), sprinkle your chosen seasonings over the ground meat mixture or formed patties. Be sure to spread the seasoning evenly across the top of the exposed meat surface to prevent an overly seasoned portion (especially with formed patties). If you have pre-formed patties, be sure to flip them over and season the other side in the same fashion.

    • 5

Knead in the seasoning and form the patties. Once you have added your chosen seasonings, knead the seasoning into the ground meat mixture once again to evenly spread the taste throughout the entire mix. Separate a hamburger patty-sized portion from the mixture and form the patty with your hands as you wish or with a patty mold. Cook the hamburgers as desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a significantly smaller amount of seasoning if your hamburgers are already cooked without seasoning.

  • In order to prevent the spread of harmful bacteria, be sure to cook your hamburger thoroughly as well as wash your hands immediately after touching raw meat mixture or patties.
