Things You'll Need:
- The desire to learn about entrepreneurship, self-employment, and/or business ownership
-
Step 1
First, You Have to be Willing to Pursue New Information and Knowledge.
Changing your thought process from that of an employee to that of a business owner is a long-term process, especially if you're beginning as an adult. -
Step 2
Second, Realize that a Wide Variety of Information Sources is Better.
Resources on entrepreneurship include talking directly to business owners and asking questions, reading books and magazines, going to seminars, and using online resources--websites, free podcasts, etc.
People have different philosophies on how to operate a business, and having a variety of point-of-views will help you get the "big picture" of how money and business works. It also is inspiring to learn of how people succeeded in business by overcoming a variety of life circumstances. -
Step 3
After You've Learned Some Basics on Entrepreneur and Business Concepts, Learn by Doing.
My college job was working for small business owners, which was extremely helpful in learning how to start a business of my own. If you can take action with the help of a good business mentor, you have a greater chance of success. You also have to take calculated risks at times--which is a major difference than being reckless.
I hope this will help you, below under Resources I'm going to provide as many helpful websites that I know on the topic. Take care and best wishes!
