How to Connect to Cisco Router Using HyperTerminal
The HyperTerminal application included with Windows XP and earlier versions of Windows can directly connect to routers, modems and other devices. HyperTerminal can dial devices with a modem over a phone line or connect directly to a local device such as a Cisco router. After you connect the router to your computer with its included cable and adapter, you can create a direct connection using HyperTerminal. HyperTerminal presents the Cisco router's terminal, allowing you to type commands directly into it.
