How to Recycle Expired Coupons

Clipping coupons is a great way to save money. Chances are you will not use all of the coupons that you clip. As coupons expire , you may be left with hundreds of clipped coupons. You can actually recycle those clipped coupons by sending them overseas to military families who are able to used expired coupons up to six months past their expiration date.   1. Recycle Expired Coupons

      Log on to the Overseas Coupon Program.

      Click on the link to adopt a base. Adopting a base is not necessary, but it will make the process a lot more streamlined. You will know who will receive the coupons you mail every month.

      Email adoptions@ocpnet.org to let them know your name, email, mailing address and phone number, as well as the name of the base you are adopting. This is for their tracking purposes.

      Sort your coupons into food and nonfood items. Total the value of each stack and place each stack in either an envelope or a plastic baggie.

      Mail your coupons to your selected military base.

    • 6

      Report your your totals to OCP at contributions@ocpnet.org. Your report should include the base that you adopted, the date you mailed the coupons, the total value of the coupons, your annual total of coupons mailed to date and your contact information.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not use rubber bands or paper clips to sort the coupons.

  • Do not send food vouchers, food stamps or restaurant coupons.
