1
Decide which player you want to be: Mrs. Peacock, Col. Mustard, Mrs. White, Miss Scarlet, Prof. Plum, or Mr. Green. Place your player on the player's designated starting spot.
-
2
Shuffle the three categories of cards. Start with the people. Shuffle them and then take the top card and place it in the secret envelope without peeking. Do this with the weapons and rooms categories also. So your secret envelope will have 1 person card, 1 weapon card, and 1 room card in it. This is the answer to the game.

3
Shuffle all of the three remaining category cards together and deal them out to all of the players.
-
4
Each player must look at their cards and cross off what they have from their provided list of possible suspects, weapons and rooms.
-
5
Players take turns rolling the dice and heading for the rooms. When a player enters a room, he may make a guess as to who he thinks committed the murder, what the weapon was and that the murder took place in the room he is standing in. It will be another player's burden, usually the one to the right, to prove the guesser wrong by showing him one of the guessed cards. The player who made the guess must then cross off the card they saw from their list. If the player to the right cannot provide proof, the next player to the right is then asked about the guess.
-
6
Show your cards when asked. If another player makes a guess and you have proof that they are wrong you must show them a card to prove them wrong. If you have two cards that prove them wrong, you still only have to show them one. If you can not prove them wrong, you must say so.
-
7
Make a real guess. When you have eliminated all possibilities and you feel that you know the answer, you must head to the room you believe is in the secret envelope and then make a guess. If you look in the envelope and you are wrong, you lose the game. If you look in the envelope and you are right, you win the game.
