Keeping a Baby Occupied Working From Home
-
1
Set your baby in a baby swing and adjust the speed setting to one that will soothe your baby. If the swing you are using has music and toy attachments you should also utilize them. Every baby is different so you have to be patient and test different possible solutions.

2
Place your baby in a bouncy seat. Many babies find the bouncy seat entertaining. Bouncy seats are also a good option because if vibration settings on the seat don't work to entertain your baby then you can bounce the seat yourself with your foot, which leaves the rest of you available to get work done.

Put a children's CD in the CD player and sing along as you get your work done. Playing a children's CD probably won't be enough to entertain your young baby, but if you sing along then the sound of your voice may soothe them. It may also help to set your baby up somewhere where they can see your face as you sing along and you can occasionally make eye contact with your baby. Disney CDs are great for this purpose since most people are familiar with the words to Disney songs.

4
Create a play area with baby gates and then set your baby up in the play area with age-appropriate toys spread around so that the baby can crawl or scoot from toy to toy without being able to venture into any danger, allowing you to work worry- free.

5
Sit your baby in an activity seat and let them play with the different activities that the seat provides. This option will keep them in a safe area and away from any potential danger in the house. If you set their seat somewhere where they will be able to see your face and you can occasionally make eye contact they will be even happier.

6
Ask a friend or family member to come over for a couple of hours per week or per day to play with the baby so that you can complete work during that time. This might also work with older children that you feel are old enough to play with the baby without your direct supervision.
