If you come across or you already know about a post office box, this is a red flag. Why would you need one if other than you are trying to hide something.

If your lover comes home and takes a shower right away, it could mean cheating. Take that opportunity to check out pockets and smell their clothes. If the clothes are in the shower with them, say you are doing a load of laundry and grab them up before they have time to protest. Check for perfume or aftershave smell, cigarette smell, hairs of different colors, and yes, stains.

Check their car for signs of the seat being moved and miscellaneous papers with scribbled notes and/or notes on them and receipts. Look to see if there is a change of clothes in the trunk or toiletry items in the trunk. While in the car, jot down the mileage of the car and keep tabs on it. Any excess mileage is a sure sign.

Hang up phone calls are the most obvious clue, but with everyone having their own cell phone, they don't happen anymore. Watch to see if the possible cheater is letting the phone call go to message whenever you are around.

Going to the store often and randomly is a clue. Usually it follows after they have received a phone call. If you are keeping track of the mileage you can judge where they are going. Consider getting a voice activated tape recorder and hiding it under the seat in the car. This is as good as hiring a detective and cheaper.

Saying they can't sleep and they are going to get on the computer for awhile or minimizing the window whenever you are near. Chat rooms can be irresistible to cheaters. If you suspect this may be going on, buy software like cyber-chase that will track computer usage. You get solid proof and a nights sleep at the same time.

Using more money than usual and not being able to account for it, for example, they have $50.00 one day and then it's all gone the next. If you are sharing an account you can go online and see what time that the withdrawals are taking place. That says a lot right there.

Staying late at work is a very common cheater excuse. The next time they say this, then drive to their job and see if they are really there. If you have been keeping track of their mileage and you know it is 5 extra miles than they usually drive, then you can drive around the area and see if you see the car at a nearby bar or motel.

Lastly, don't jump at the first indication. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row and all your information together, then confront them. The smartest move is no confirmation at all, just leaving them without any notice. It will give the cheater a taste of their own medicine and will keep you from being talked back into the relationship by the cheater.
