2. The path you decide to take in step one will influence what needs to be done here in step two. If you decide to use a full service investment broker then you simply need to let them know you are interested in investing in solar energy stocks and they will likely do the research for you. If you open an account on your own you will need to do the grunt work yourself.

3. Look for stocks who are already making money

Also, keep in mind that because of the speculative nature of these types of companies, these are very risky investments. I suggest investing in a more mature solar energy company who is already making a profit.
