How to Create a Hover Button Using FrontPage 2000
A Hover button is a link that visitors to your website can select to display another web page. You can add effects to your Hover button that will change the appearance of the Hover button when visitors move their mouse over it. Hover buttons are useful to make your website more interactive and attractive. You can create Hover buttons for different menu items on your page. Open your FrontPage program. Access the web page that you will be editing. Choose the location on your page where you want to add the Hover button. Click on the FrontPage menu bar and choose “Insert.” Then choose “Hover button.” The Hover button properties dialog box is displayed. Next to Button Text, type the text that you wish to display on your Hover button.

Click the “Browse” button. The Select Hover Button Hyperlink Properties dialog box appears. This enables you to select the web page that you want to display when readers click on your Hover button. All of the web pages that are in your site are displayed here.

Choose the web page that you wish to link the Hover button to. Next to Url, type the address of the web page that will be linked to the Hover button. Click “OK.”

Verify that the name of the web page that you specified appears next to “Link to.” Click the down arrow next to “Button color” to choose a color for the Hover button when the button is displayed on your site

Click the area next to Effect to choose an effect that you wish to occur when visitors move the mouse over the Hover button. Choose the effect that you wish to use, such as “Glow,” “Color fill,” or “Light glow.” Choose “Effect color”,to choose a color for your effect. Click “OK” to close the dialog box.

Test your site and verify that your Hover button appears and the effects that you chose are displayed when you move your mouse over the button.
