How to Draw a Baby Penguin

Penguins are some of the cutest creatures waddling about this planet, and they are even cuter when they are young. You can create a cute creature of your very own when you draw a baby penguin.

Instructions

    • 1

Create his face. Draw two fat circles above a round edged triangle. These serve as his little beak and two big eyes.

    • 2

Make a dome shape above his face. This is the top of his head and the outline for the rest of his body.

    • 3

Hook up his feet. Draw two shapes that sort of look like a sloppy crown. They both can be straight up and down or crooked, depending on how you want your baby penguin to be sitting. Draw a line to connect the bottom of his dome body and the feet.

    • 4

Draw a curved line for his belly. Start the line outside one of the feet, curve it up just below his beak and finish it off outside the other foot.

    • 5

Shade him in. Use a fat black marker or dark pencil shading to color in the top half of the dome body. Add two dots inside his eyeballs for pupils.

    • 6

Add fine details and color. Make two black dots inside his beak and three lines on the bottom of each foot. Pick a fine yellow or orange to shade in those areas.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make your baby penguin even more infantile, you can draw a pacifier instead of a beak.

  • To make him look like a kindergartener, you can top off his head with a beanie or one of those caps that have a spinning thing on top of them.

  • Baby penguins work well on cards congratulating new parents.

  • Baby penguins work well on nursery walls, but only if you have permission to draw them there.
