How to Layout a Project Management Plan
The first step in managing a large project is correctly laying out your project management plan. Until you determine what the goal is, a method to achieve it and your budget, you can't form a plan.

1
List the known project goals from the most important to the least. Leave some wiggle room for side goals that crop up along the way.
-
2
Chart the project into the individual areas of development. For instance, if you're heading up the project management team for the construction of a new hotel, you'll chart each aspect; excavation, structural work, plumbing, roofing, permits, etc.
-
-
3
Find the common relationships between the different areas of development. Succesful project management entails the ability to schedule the greatest amount of work into the smallest unit of time while retaining the highest level of productivity.
-
4
Breakdown each of your charted areas into every task necessary to achieve their goal. Set a chronological order for your management task.
-
5
Recruit experts in their fields in order to successfuly chart the individual aspects of the project.
-
6
Tie it all together in a logical sequence. If your project is complex, you will have hundreds, if not more, papers detailing the management plan. Compile these documents in the sequence in which they will occur.
-
7
Develop a synopsis of your project management plan for key members of the management team, detailing the dates and the inter-relationship between all the people involved.
