Step 1
Choose a casino based on the games you like to play. Make sure that the casino you are heading to has a roulette table, for example if that's what you like to play, or craps or poker. Smaller casinos tend to not have all of the games that larger casinos, like those in Las Vegas, tend to have. Call smaller casinos ahead of time to make sure they have your game of choice.

Step 2
Choose a casino based on your budget and skill level. There are many casinos that have dollar tables, where you can play games like craps, blackjack 21 and poker. At these tables, you can gamble for less money and pick up skills that can help you strategize and win more money. Also, a valuable asset at these tables is that the miminum amount is low. As your luck increases, or you get better at a particular game, you can choose to increase the amount you bet if you would like. At tables where the minimum bet is $15 or $20, money can go fast, unlike at tables with a lower minimum bet.

Step 3
Choose a casino based on the amenities and perks. Many casinos, especially in Las Vegas, have luxurious pools and scrumptious all-you-can-eat buffets and 5-star restaurants. After you gamble, take a dip in the pool or grab a bite to eat. Many, if not all casinos, also reward players who win big with free nights at the hotel, free meals and free shows. As you select the casino that you will play in, choose one that is in a hotel that you love. If you are staying in a hotel you like, play there. Sometimes guests are also given perks when they gamble at the casino in the hotel where they are staying. In addition, most casinos offer free drinks to gambling guests. Check ahead of time to find out if the casino you are heading to offers this perk.

Step 4
Select a casino based on personal tastes and what makes you comfortable. For example, there are some casinos that offer nonsmoking tables. If you are a nonsmoker, and sitting at a table where people are constantly blowing smoke, this can be annoying. Check ahead of time to find out if non-smoking tables are available. In addition, if large casinos make you uncomfortable, shop around for a smaller, more intimate casino.
