1. Be consistent. Pick an overall theme and stick with it, such as all gold or all silver. If earrings have colors on them, try to stay at least within the same color family.

2. Be bold. Choose hoops of descending size. Start the largest at the bottom piercing and work your way up to the smallest at the top hole. This look says you are not afraid to speak your mind.

3. Stay subtle. Line your ears with small balls, studs or gems of all the same color and size. This overall effect says you’re quietly stylish but still willing to make a statement.
