How to Make No Bake Crunchies - No Wheat Dessert - Cornflakes Drop Cookies

This is a great holiday treat to make for friends with wheat allergies & is a year-round favorite of my family.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup white karo syrup
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 6 cups corn flakes
  • burner/stove-top heat source
  • cooking pot
  • large mixing bowl
  • mixing spoon
  • wax paper
  1. Step 1
    cornflakes

    Measure corn flakes into mixing bowl and set aside.

  2. Step 2

    Place wax paper onto flat surface in preparation for drop cookies.

  3. Step 3
    white karo corn syrup

    Measure sugar and syrup and add to cooking pot.

  4. Step 4
    peanut butter

    Pre measure peanut butter and vanilla and set aside.

  5. Step 5
    vanilla
     
    vanilla

    Heat sugar and white syrup just to boil and quickly remove from heat.

  6. Step 6

    Add peanut butter and vanilla to hot ingredients and stir to melt/mix together.

  7. Step 7

    Quickly add hot mixture to bowl of flakes and stir, stir, stir.

  8. Step 8

    Drop by clumps onto wax paper to cool and firm.

  9. Step 9

    Enjoy dessert treat while still slightly warm and gooey or let cool completely and wrap each cookie clump individually in wax paper. Store in airtight container in a cool, dry place until ready to serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have use frosted corn flakes, reduced fat peanut butter, and dark Karo syrup when regular ingredients were unavailable.
  • This dessert is not for persons with peanut or corn allergies.
