How to Clean a Car Windshield
A clean windshield makes for a safe car. Glass is porous, and dirt and bugs can really do a number on your visibility. This doesn't even include the daily film that builds up on your windshield from smog and dirt. Keeping your windshield clean will help keep you and your family safe by ensuring that you have excellent visibility.

In order to have a clean windshield, you will first want to start by cleaning your windshield wipers. Pour a little rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and gently go over the blade of your windshield wiper. Do this on a monthly basis to remove dirt and grime and ensure they are working to their full potential.

Prior to cleaning the inside and outside of your windshield, remove all bugs and bird droppings from the window. Spray a heavy spray of glass cleaner such as Windex, and allow it to penetrate the goop for five minutes. Rub the spots with a dry towel until the offending goop is removed.

Clean the inside and outside of your windshield by spraying it with glass cleaner. Crumple up some old newspaper and rub in a circular motion along the surface of the windshield. Do this until the glass is clean and dry. Your hands will get ink on them; to avoid this, you will want to wear gloves. You might wonder why newspaper when paper towels don't smudge your hands. The ink in the newspapers is mildly abrasive, enhancing the cleaning power of the glass cleaner, and as an added bonus, newspaper will not leave any lint like paper towels might do.

To ensure that your windshield remains clean and that water just rolls off the glass when it rains you will want to coat the glass with a product like Rain X. This will put a light coat of wax on your glass and help you drive through the rain with ease. You will take a clean towel and apply the Rain X in a circular motion over the outside of your window shield. Allow the Rain X to dry to a haze. Once it has dried to a haze, you will want to use a new towel and rub, again in a circular motion, off the Rain X.
