Create the Dress
-
1
Find a black dress that you don't mind cutting up. Spaghetti straps work best for this. You can also use 2 black slips and layer them on top of one another. Grab your scissors and cut the bottom of the dress/slips in a zig zag, Tinkerbell fashion. If you are using the slips, cut them separately so that there is a nice layering effect when you combine them.
-
2
Sew on whole scarves or cut up the scarves along the bottom of the dress, creating a tutu effect. Or if you want to keep the Tinkerbell effect, you can skip this step.
-
3
Use your fabric glue and glitter to create swirly designs on the top of the dress. You can get as creative as you want with this step. Make sure you give it ample time to dry--at least overnight.
Customize the Wings
-
1
Buy cheap costume wings instead of spending $50 or more for more intricate wings. Dark wings work best for this outfit. Take your wings and put them on top of newspaper.
-
2
Glue your designs on (swirly or spiderweb, whatever makes you happy) and glitter them as you go.
-
3
Glue down your rhinestones where you see fit. You can even add strands of beads and loop them through the wings for a draped effect.
Final Touches
-
1
Get your accessories together. Black nail polish and any dark jewelry you want to add. You can make a simple black choker by getting black ribbon and safety-pinning it together. Any leftover black fabric from cutting or scarves make great wrist bracelets. Fishnets are great with this outfit, along with some black heels, shoes or boots.
-
2
Tousle your hair. Frizz it out, curl it out, spray color, have random braids and make it look wild!
-
3
Go crazy with glitter
Paint your face with swirly designs using black face paint or eyeliner. Black lipstick is a must (or a very dark lipstick color). Sprinkle some glitter randomly on your skin and hair before you go out trick or treating.

Tips & Warnings
If you put glitter on your skin right after you apply body lotion, the glitter will stay on much better.
Be careful of getting glitter in your eyes, nose or mouth.
